YSA Pop-Up Skatepark at Youngstown Community Development Day at Wean Park - All Ages - Free Admission

  • Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater & Wean Park 201 South Phelps Street Youngstown, OH, 44503 United States (map)

In collaboration with the City of Youngstown Community Development Division of the Department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED), this free, community-focused event will temporarily transform a section of the venue into a skatepark designed for skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, in-line skates, and roller skates.

The event will create a safe and welcoming environment for riders of all ages and skill levels, while raising awareness and support for YSA's mission to develop and maintain a free, public skatepark in the city of Youngstown. By activating the park in this way, we aim to showcase how a dedicated skatepark can bring new energy, recreation opportunities, and community engagement to this public space.

Safety Requirements:

Safety remains a top priority, and all participants are required to follow YSA’s established rules and guidelines.

  • To ensure the safety of all attendees and the sustainability of future events, a signed participant waiver is mandatory for anyone entering the skatepark area. No individual will be permitted to ride without a completed waiver on file. Participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Helmets are mandatory for riders under 18 and are strongly recommended for adults. Additional protective gear, including knee and elbow pads, is highly encouraged. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian. Participation is ride-at-your-own-risk, and children under the age of three are not permitted to participate.

Participants must bring their own helmet, safety gear, and riding equipment.

Parent/guardian must show valid driver’s license for waiver.

Community members of all skill levels are encouraged to attend, ride, or spectate.

To keep these events running smoothly, we rely on dedicated volunteers. Even if you can only help for a couple of hours, it makes a huge difference. Sign up to volunteer here.
